Gotchas:

White Balance, 717

What the? Every pre-set WB setting gives me the same wrong white balance? What the?

It's true. There is a mode you can innocently put the camera into that will mess with your mind.

If you go to Set Up and select Cam2 > Hot Shoe > On,
then you have just told the camera to expect a flash image. So it sets its white balance to Daylight. Then you will forget about it and suddenly Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent and Sunny will all look the same.

And instead of saying "What the?" you will actually say, "&*§æ%$#@!!"

Leave this control >Off during non-external flash shooting. And if you have Sony's own HVL-F1000 flash unit, you won't need the Set Up page setting for that, either.

White Balance 707

Manual WB shows up in the "three image review" screen as "  ".

That's right. No label at all.
